Promoting academic excellence in Darien Public Schools through transparency & engagement.
What We Believe
Darien Public Schools’ primary goal should be promoting academic excellence for its students
Parents and caretakers have a fundamental right to make decisions concerning the upbringing, education and care of their children
Parents and caretakers have the right to know what their children are being taught, who is teaching them, and which organizations/individuals are receiving school contracts and taxpayer funding
Parents and caretakers are their children’s first and foremost educators and have primary responsibility for the education of their children
Darien schools should be apolitical: The Administration should only be promoting curriculum aligned with the community’s values and beliefs
Children’s privacy is sacred: their personal data should not be collected, shared, and sold to third parties without parental or caretaker consent
"Preventative" programs in schools should be clearly distinguished from medical care to avoid unnecessary and potentially harmful interventions in young learners
